Giving a Sick Child a Break
The Annual Fun Cycle Rally in aid of sick children in four Cork hospitals takes place next year in April, due to new flyover traffic restrictions on the proposed route for the original October 2011 plan. Amateur and practised cyclists of all ages, all shapes, all sizes and all of the intention to support the cause, will leave Horgan’s Quay and the Lord Mayor at 11.00 for Ballincollig and Kinsale.
Last year, over forty children, with their carers, were able to take a short break in Disneyland Paris in a weekend of their young lives, thanks to the street collections and sponsorship money raised by this event.
This year, Ballincollig is the focus for Fundraising and Fun- raising.
In Ballincollig, the volunteers will create a festival of fun with clowns, cartoon characters,’animals’ and various activities to amuse shoppers and to ask for support for the sick children.Meanwhile the cyclists will parade the town with some noise, presence and style before taking refreshments at the Rugby Club and then cycling on to Kinsale.
